Stephen J. Yermal is an Associate Professor of Clinical at the University of Miami School of Nursing & Health Studies.  Dr. Yermal’s research focuses on the impact of pain, psychological distress, and anesthesia on immune-specific tumor surveillance mechanisms during surgical oncology procedures. He received funding for this research in 2002 from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Foundation and from the National Institutes of Health.
