Jorge is a native to Miami and a graduate from the University of Miami.  He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 1997.  He began his nursing career as an ICU nurse at Baptist Hospital; in the fall of 1999 he packed up and went to Minnesota to attend the Mayo Clinic’s nurse anesthesia program where he earned a Master’s in Nurse Anesthesia in 2002. He moved back to Miami in 2003 and began his career as a nurse anesthetist at Baptist Hospital, becoming the chief CRNA in 2006. Jorge first started to teach nurse anesthesia students in 2007 at Barry and Florida International University.  He began Doctoral studies in 2009 and is currently enrolled at UM for his PhD.
