Patient Safety Network

We are pleased to announce the official launch of the Nursing and Patient Safety/ Enfermería y la Seguridad de los Pacientes free online course on September 20, 2011, in Coimbra, Portugal at the IX Meeting of the Nursing and Patient Safety Experts’ Network, during the ALADEFE XI Iberoamerican Conference on Nursing Education. This 11-module course, developed by our WHO Center’s faculty and staff, in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization and the International Network for Nursing and Patient Safety, is available free of charge in English and Spanish with plans for a Portuguese translation underway. The course is structurally aligned with the Patient Safety Solutions put forth by WHO and the Joint Commission and targets nurses throughout the Americas. Evaluation of the course and its use will be ongoing.

Patient Safety & Simulation

We are pleased to offer a new workshop entitled “Estrategias para la Enseñanza Clínica de Enfermería con Simuladores” (Strategies for Clinical Nursing Education Using Simulation). The workshop is geared to the needs of the faculty of Latin American nursing schools, so that they may learn new strategies for incorporating simulation into their clinical nursing curriculum.
