The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies Simulation Academy is regarded as one of the most advanced academic simulation labs in the country. The International Academy for Clinical Simulation and Research (IACSR), features state-of-the-art, high-fidelity simulators, screen-based simulation programs and “standardized patient” encounter rooms which enhance student clinical experiences prior to and during rotations in practice settings.
Patient simulators are computer-driven mannequins which exhibit life-like vital signs, including heartbeat, blood pressure, and body and eye movements. They can be programmed to display a variety of normal and abnormal conditions and to respond to medical and pharmacological interventions in real time.
The IACSR was created to facilitate clinical and procedural nursing practice for students enrolled in the full range of nursing programs, including BSN, MSN, DNP and post-graduate certificate programs. The state of the art technology enables the school to provide un-matched first-rate training programs for its students.
