The School of Nursing and Health Studies offers two separate doctoral programs: the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The DNP (Doctorate in Nursing Practice) is a practice focused doctoral degree. Graduates of the DNP program are prepared to create innovation for nursing practice and health care. The PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is a research-focused degree. Graduates of the PhD program are prepared to assume faculty roles in research and teaching.
