The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies BSN program, unlike many other nursing programs nationwide, admits freshman directly in to the BSN-program. The BSN program is designed to offer students access to a wide variety of educational, clinical and simulated learning environments. Our school’s state-of-the-art building offers unmatched world-class simulation facilities at the home of the International Academy of Clinical Simulation along with cutting edge technologically advanced classrooms and computer labs. Partnerships with UM’s Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, the University of Miami Hospital, the Jackson Health System, and over 170 other clinical partners offer BSN students real world experience with diverse patient populations.
Unlike many other nursing programs nationwide, the University of Miami admits students to the BSN program in the School of Nursing and Health Studies as Freshmen. UM freshmen are guaranteed progression to the upper division of the BSN providing they complete the pre-requisite coursework and maintain the required GPA.
Transfer students from accredited universities, colleges, or junior colleges may be admitted with advanced standing as space allows provided they have completed courses comparable to those required by the University of Miami.
Admission to the University of Miami’s BSN program as a transfer student is competitive. Students seeking to transfer from other institutions are advised to contact the school’s Office of Student Services at 305.284.4325 to ensure that they meet all transfer requirements.
