The BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia Track is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), 222 South Prospect Avenue Suite 304, Park Ridge, IL 60068, (847) 692-7050; the program is accredited through 2018. This accreditation permits graduates to take the National Certification Examination to obtain the CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) credential. The program is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791.

The University of Miami is a member of the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, the U.S. Department of Education recognized regional accrediting agency and is accredited to offer degrees through the doctoral level.


The inaugural class of the BSN-DNP started in January 2014, therefore passing rates for the first doctoral prepared cohort of nurse anesthesia graduates will not be available until 2017. Attrition rates includes number of students who switched to a different specialty, withdrew from the program, took leave of absence, or left the program due to other factors. Our attrition rates are comparable to other program reports.


All of our graduates have been successful in obtaining employment within six months of graduation. Most students obtain employment commitments well before graduation or shortly thereafter. While some students choose to remain in South Florida, many of our UM graduates have also obtained successful employment opportunities in most geographical regions of the nation.
