Herbert Wellness Center offers massage discounts for UM employees

August 04, 2014 — Coral Gables, Fla. — A relaxing massage not only reduces stress, but it can also improve body posture, blood circulation and even lower blood pressure. In an effort to provide UM faculty and staff with a positive and high-quality work environment, the Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center extends a special discount on table massages to all full- and part-time UM employees, regardless of membership status.

UM employees receive a 10 percent discount off the regular price for 50-minute Swedish table massages given by a licensed massage therapist. In addition, non-members who book a massage are provided with a free one-day guest pass to take advantage of the many other programs and services available throughout the Herbert Wellness Center. The Herbert Wellness Center also offers a package deal that provides one free session with the purchase of seven 50-minute sessions. Table massage appointments are available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“Often the first step towards being happy and healthy is living stress-free,” said Ashley Falcon, assistant director of wellness programs at the Herbert Wellness Center. “Eliminating stress as a barrier to other healthy lifestyle choices, like getting fit and eating healthy, is a great start towards healthy living.”

Chair massage events can also be coordinated through the Herbert Wellness Center and are available to Coral Gables departments for staff events and workshops. For more information about all of the Herbert Wellness Center’s massage services or to make an appointment for table or chair massages, call the sales office at 305-284-5433.
