Living Independently Through Fitness and Exercise (L.I.F.E.) is a program specially designed for individuals sixty-five years of age or older. Research indicates that inactive older adults, by becoming active, can offset 50% or more of the physical loss during those years. The program places emphasis on resistance exercise, flexibility training, and functional activities. With improved strength and flexibility, activities of daily living are more easily accomplished, thus allowing each participant to remain independent for as long as possible. Since its’ inception, L.I.F.E. has been named as a “Successful Active Aging Program” by the American College of Sports Medicine and has been featured in numerous articles.
L.I.F.E. sessions are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and members have the option of choosing from sessions that begin at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., or 9:00 a.m. Sessions are lead by enthusiastic fitness professionals that create diverse and interactive fitness routines that are sure to be fun. L.I.F.E. members also received a bi-monthly “L.I.F.E. News” newsletter that provides them with heath and wellness information, recipes, quotes, jokes and more.
