The University of Miami Barton S. Goldberg Family Equestrian Club/Team is made up of a group of students at the University who all share a common love for horses and horseback riding. The club was founded in 1997 by Caroline Buckley, and every year our team continues to grow and beat out tough competition on the IHSA circuit. Our team participates in many horse related activities including: hosting annual UM IHSA horse show in Miami; weekly riding lessons; attending Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competitions; volunteer work for therapeutic programs; attending clinics and demonstrations; watching polo matches and major competitions; having guest speakers.
Dues: $40 - 55 / year

The University of Miami Barton S. Goldberg Family Equestrian Club/Team is an university student organization and club sport aimed towards people who want to get involved with horses. Although the team is intended for competition, many members on the team participate in volunteer opportunities such as the organization SPCA as well as many other campus activities. The team is open for all levels of riding from high level with years of experience to those who have never ridden before. The team is an English riding team only and participates in equitation competition reaching the jumping level of 3’. We welcome all members and hope to see you soon!

Competition in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association
The team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (Zone 5 Region 3), which holds competitions for Hunter/Jumper riders. The team competes against other schools like: the University of Florida, Florida State University, Georgia Southern University, University of Central Florida, College of Charleston, and Savannah College of Art and Design, to name a few.
The IHSA provides collegiate riders of all skills the opportunity to compete individually and as teams in equestrian competition. It was founded on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows regardless of his or her riding ability or financial status.
The University of Miami Equestrian Team wishes to acknowledge and thank Barton S. Goldberg Family for their generous endowment to the team.
The team practices at a hunter/jumper show barn about 20 minutes away from campus. The team organizes carpool rides for those that do not have a car.
