Business United Day of Service

- The service day for the Undergraduate School of Business' FIRST Step (MGT 100) program is designed to facilitate the five core values that the program represents while also nurturing “esprit de corps” within the Business School community. Students experience the needs of the under-served communities of Miami and assist non-profit organizations in in a one-day work session.

Black Awareness Month Day of Service
- February is Black Awareness Month and the Black Awareness Committee for Black Awareness Month hosts a day of service in name of celebrating the achievements and contributions of people of African descent.

FunDay
- FunDay is a day when mentally challenged citizens from around the greater Miami area visit the campus and participate in a day of various events with students from the University of Miami.

Hurricanes Help the Hometown

- Come be a part of history and UM tradition! Hurricanes Help the Hometown is an annual day during Homecoming in which University of Miami students, faculty, alumni, and staff commit their time to volunteer in different agencies around the community.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

- The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service began as a small Philadelphia project in 1996 but quickly became a nation-wide movement to empower and strengthen communities through volunteer work. As the University of Miami's first service day of the Spring Semester, students are given the opportunity to break down barriers, meet people they would not ordinarily meet, give back to the Miami community and continue Dr. King's legacy of selflessness and service. Last year, over 150 students participated.
- This year's event will be held on January 23, 2011.
National Gandhi Day of Service
- National Gandhi Day of Service, the largest day of service on campus, brings together a diverse group of students to volunteer at a wide variety of sites in the Miami area. Participants of Gandhi Day give back to the community in the ideals of peace and civic duty advocated by Mahatma Gandhi. Last year, over 1,200 students participated.

Orientation Outreach
- Are you a first year student that wants to get to know more people in a fun and exciting way? Come check out Orientation Outreach! Orientation Outreach is a day in which the Butler Center for Volunteer Service and Leadership Development introduces first-year students to volunteerism within the Miami community. Students are not only able to broaden their horizons and strengthen their ideas and views about the world around them, but they also have the opportunity to meet and interact with upperclassmen students who share a similar passion for service.
