The Butler Center provides students with a wide range of areas, programs, events and office initiatives in which to get involved. The Center offers resources for students interested in volunteerism and service-learning, as well as opportunities for students and student organizations to develop leadership skills and get involved in service in the Miami-Dade area. The Center also houses over 40 service & advocacy groups that students may join during their undergrad career. The Center also provides students many leadership opportunities on programming boards for office programs including The Leadership Summit. The City of Miami and its diverse cultures provides UM students many ways to get directly involved in making a difference in the lives of others.

The Center is the direct point of contact for all volunteer & community service for undergraduate students. The Center annual helps plan and facilitate large scale days of service (National Gandhi Day of Service, Hurricanes Help the Hometown, Orientation Outreach etc.) The Center also does individual and group community service placement in over 500 local non-profit organizations.

The Center is also the clearinghouse for all leadership development for undergraduate students. These programs include IMPACT Leadership Retreat, First Year U & The Leadership Development Series. The Center also provides leadership "on demand." The office can facilitate teambuilding, low ropes initiates and personality assessments. Please contact the Butler Center for more information.
