Optional Tours/Excursions

This year, the Family Weekend program is pleased to provide participants opportunities to explore the Miami area through optional tours through Dragonfly Expeditions. Dragonfly Expeditions provides distinctive tours and day journeys through the colorful history and ecology of the Everglades and South Florida. The unique blend of not only flora and fauna, but also culture, food, history and people of a destination led to the recognition of Dragonfly Expeditions as one of the best ecotour companies in the world by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine.

Tours will be available at various times throughout the day on Friday and on Saturday for participants not attending the UM football game. You will have the option to also purchase a tour/excursion ticket for your student during the registration process. Tour spaces are limited and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please see the Optional Tours/Excursions link on the right-hand side of the page for a detailed description.

Campus Parking

Included in the registration fee is a parking pass that is valid for the entire weekend. You will receive the parking pass via e-mail one week prior to Family Weekend. You will need to print out your parking pass and display it in the front windshield of your vehicle throughout the weekend. If you forget your pass, we will have them available at check-in.

During Family Weekend, there will be ample parking available in non-restricted lots around campus. Please note that the parking permits are not valid in lots 303, 304B, parking meters, reserved spaces, or service spaces.

Transportation to Sun Life Stadium

Family Weekend participants have the option of choosing to drive and park at Sun Life Stadium or choosing to purchase round-trip bus transportation from the University of Miami campus to Sun Life Stadium on the same buses provided for students. The cost for parking and round-trip bus transportation will be available by July 2, 2012. Bus transportation will be available for purchase during the registration process. Please note: you do NOT need to purchase bus transportation for your student. Round-trip bus transportation is free of charge for current UM students.
