At UM, learning doesn’t end when you leave the classroom. Our motto is “Live to learn, learn to live.”

For undergraduates, life is active and encompassing. When you live on campus classroom activities and friendships overflow into social spaces. With more than 100 programs scheduled during the academic year in each residential college, students can choose from a range of academic and cultural sessions literally located in their own backyard.

But student life reaches beyond the residential halls. With more than 200 student organizations and an active Greek community, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to make friends and pursue your passions all over campus.
Undergraduate and graduate students share facilities and opportunities including a world-class fitness center, live concerts and other arts and culture events, a campus cinema, and nearby South Beach and Coconut Grove.
All students carry the Cane Card as an identification card for campus activities and services. You’ll also have a unique Cane ID, which offers access to technology on campus.
