Melissa Hechtman

Hello All! My name is Melissa Hechtman, and I am the Academic and Career Advisor (ACAR) for Stanford Residential College. I have a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As an ACAR, I am here to help first year students transition to U.M. I am available to help students choose appropriate courses and majors and plan for academic success. I am also here to guide students in developing career goals and applying for research positions, prestigious awards and fellowships, internships, work experience, and volunteer opportunities. Joined by a great team of Academic Fellows, I strive to help new students navigate the many resources available at the U through programming and advising. The ACAR Office is a “one-stop-shop” to connect to faculty, advisors, and academic support services across campus. My office is located on the first floor of Stanford Residential College (Room #113). Please stop by with questions or just to say “hello!” on the first floor of Stanford Residential College (Room #113). Please stop by with questions or just to say “hello!”
