The Butler Center's annual 'Canes for a Change Week is a campus-wide campaign to showcase the array of programs and services provided through the office. Hosted by the Butler Center for Service & Leadership, this week's programs connect students with service and leadership opportunities within the University of Miami and the Greater Miami community.

Tuesday, September 13: Butler Center BBQ and Involvement Fair

Learn more about volunteer opportunities in the community by interacting with Butler Center organizations and local non-profit community partners.
Courage to Be: Bringing Down the Flag
St. Bede Episcopal Chapel, 8 p.m.
Come and engage with Bree Newsome and James Tyson, modern day civil rights figures, who brought down the confederate flag from the South Carolina State Capitol. Presented by the United Wesley Foundation of Miami.
Wednesday, September 14: Civic Scholars Coffee Hour
SC Vista Room, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Mingle with current Civic Scholars over light refreshments. Come learn about the benefits of the Civic Scholars program and the steps that you can take to become involved.
Thursday, September 15: National Day of Service and Remembrance
Rock Plaza, 12 p.m.
