The Diversity Leadership Retreat will provide an opportunity for students to discuss diversity, social justice, inclusive environments, multiculturalism, leadership and so much more.  Participants will be inspired and equipped with strategies for success, lessons on leadership, and practical skills that will be helpful in navigating our global society.  For more information, please contact Multicultural Student Affairs at 305-284-2855.

ALFA World Wide, Ltd. and former Senior VP of ESPN

James BrownJames Brown partnered with Boris and Patrick Kodjoe to launch www.WorldofAlfa.com in 2010. The company’s mission is to make the luxury of high quality custom-made clothing at affordable prices to everyone (Alfa is an Acronym for Affordable Luxury For All). James is co-founder and co-owner of the company and serves as head of partnerships and corporate alliances. James Brown, Jr., currently serves as senior vice president, ESPN RISE, oversees the event and television business for the cross-platform high school business. Brown was responsible for creating the ESPN RISE National High School Invitational, the only post season high school invitational tournament of its kind, and the ESPN RISE Games.

Rev. Dr. Jaime WashingtonRev. Dr. Jamie Washington serves as the President and Founder of the Washington Consulting Group, a Multicultural Organizational Development Firm based in Baltimore, MD. He is also a senior consultant with The Equity Consulting Group of California, and Elsie Y. Cross and Associates out of Philadelphia. Dr. Washington has served as an educator and administrator in higher education for over 20 years. He most recently served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). He has been an instructor in Sociology, American Studies and Education, and an Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies at UMBC.
