The Butler Center is home to over 40
service-based
student
organizations that any UM undergraduate student may
join at any time. Our office also has a number of
affiliated
student organizations at UM that have missions and
goals that align with those of the Butler Center. Additionally, we
provide students a number of leadership opportunities through many
different programs and events throughout the year. Participating in one
of the
service
and leadership programming boards also allows students
to get first-hand experience in planning and developing these programs.
The Butler Center also provides a number of opportunities for students
outside of student organizations.
Service
days are among the most popular events at UM. On these
days, UM students serve in various ways throughout the local community.
The Butler Center also hosts
service
and leadership conferences and symposiums throughout
the year that focus on service and leadership. Many of these events are
the catalyst for underclassmen involvement on campus. To fully immerse
students into service and leadership,
living
and learning communities have been developed for
undergraduate students interested in unique service opportunities.
Please check our
OrgSync
page for our database of volunteer opportunities, student organizations
and community partners. The Butler Center offers resources for students
interested in volunteerism and service learning and also provides
opportunities for students and student organizations to develop
leadership skills and get involved in service in the Miami-Dade area.
The city of Miami and its diverse cultures provide UM students many ways
to get directly involved in making a difference in the lives of
others.
