Jeremy Bourgoin is the Area Director for Hecht Residential College. Starting his fourth year at the U he oversees the daily operations of Hecht as well as collaborate with Hecht's amazing Residential Faculty, Academic and Career Advisor in Residence, Assistant Area Director, and Office Supervisor to provide the best first year experience possible! As the Area Director, he oversees the Resident Assistants, peer mentors on each floor, and Desk Assistants, staff who help operate and provide customer service at the Hecht Front Desk. They work incredibly hard to develop a comprehensive first year experience program that helps you transition both academically and socially, while providing opportunities to interact with peers, faculty, and staff in engaging and memorable ways! Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Jeremy received his Bachelors in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He also earned his Masters in Higher Education Administration at Vanderbilt University while working in a first year experience program advising student organizations, planning large-scale campus events, and coordinating new student orientation and welcome week.
Carolina is the Assistant Area Director for Hecht Residential College. Born and raised in Orlando, FL, Carolina comes from a boisterous family of 7 and is very excited to call Florida home again. She moved here from Clemson, South Carolina where she completed her Master’s degree in Counselor Education at Clemson University. Prior to that, she attended the University of South Florida and received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. At USF I was extremely involved as a student athlete, Chi Omega, RA, Starbucks Barista and oh the list goes on and on! During her time at Clemson she remained active through her experiences in Housing & Residential Life, Fraternity & Sorority Life, and abroad in Italy interning at the American University of Rome.
Janey provides administrative support as well as supervises the desk assistants in the Hecht Residential College. Janey is a native of Miami, Florida and possesses over 15 years of support experience. Janey has worked in the non-profit as well as the for profit community as a Department Head Secretary and currently as an Office Supervisor. Janey received her AA in Business in 2013 and is currently pursuing her BS in Business and is due to graduate in the Fall of 2016. Janey is very family oriented and loves any activity where her family can be included. She also believes anything is possible and that it is never too late to make your dreams come true.
