Michael serves as the Academic & Career Advisor in Residence (ACAR) for Hecht, Stanford, and Eaton Residential Colleges. He assists students with triaging academic concerns through advising, assistance with major and career exploration, educational programs, as well as connecting students to the appropriate academic resources on campus. Michael also works closely with the Faculty in Residence, and supervises 26 First Year Fellows (FYFs) who live on first year student floors, work closely with the Resident Assistants (RAs), and help him advise students, share information about University events, and present programs in the residential colleges. Michael, originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, earned his Master of Arts degree in Geography and Regional Studies as well as his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Geography from the University of Miami. Michael previously served as a Senior Area Coordinator at the University of Southern Indiana where he oversaw two first year residence halls and worked with an amazing team of resident assistants and a graduate assistant. Michael is excited to return to The U and support students navigating through their collegiate careers, while showing some Hurricane pride!
