‘Canes Care for ‘Canes Ambassador Program:  A Call to Action

‘Canes Care for ‘Canes is more than just an initiative- it is a campus-wide call to action, and as such, students play a major role in spreading our values and ideals throughout the student body.

Watch current and former UM students share their thoughts on the topic “What Would You Do For A Fellow ‘Cane?”

‘Canes Care Ambassadors come from all backgrounds and from all corners of the University. From Greek life to residential life to student government, the Ambassadors are caring, outgoing, and enthusiastic student leaders. We strive to make a difference within their organizations by providing education, support, and resources to their peers.

We would like to share a couple of CaneTips with you.

CaneTip #1: Get Involved

‘Canes Care for ‘Canes is always searching for students who are interested in leadership opportunities, as well as, in promoting our initiative across the campus community.

As a ‘Canes Care for ‘Canes Ambassador, you will be a member of select group of students who are committed to:
•  Promoting a caring community among students, faculty, and staff through active and passive programming and outreach;
•  Engaging students and encourage them to be active participants, not bystanders, in the lives of their classmates and friends by paying attention to and speaking up on behalf of students who need assistance; and,
•  Promoting the community resources that are available to assist and support students in their academic and interpersonal lives.

CaneTip #2: Stay Connected
