Title/Position: Associate Vice President, Facilities Design & ConstructionProfile:
Richard K. Jones is the Associate Vice President for Facilities Design & Construction at the University of Miami. He is responsible for the department operations as well as oversight of project management for the design and construction of all major healthcare, lab buildings, research, academic, support facilities and infrastructure construction projects on all campuses.
Mr. Jones is currently responsible for over $520M of capital and non-capital projects in various stages including new construction and renovation projects. He is also responsible for planning activities, architectural design review, construction grant preparation, and department quality management.
He is currently spearheading a green building initiative across all campuses, which is expected to result in several LEED certified facilities.
Mr. Jones received his BARCH from the University of Miami, School of Architecture in 1991 and his MBA from the University of Miami, School of Business in 2001. He is a registered architect and has practiced architecture in the Miami area for over 20 years. His experience includes a wide range of institutional, commercial, healthcare and residential projects. He practiced at several local architectural firms before he joined the University of Miami in 1996.
Mr. Jones is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Owners Association of America, and the US Green Building Council.
