Brian Gitlin is the Assistant Vice President for Real Estate at the University of Miami and joined the institution in 2014. Mr. Gitlin is responsible for all university acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and management of off-campus property. These responsibilities include financial analysis, transaction structuring, deal negotiations, management of outside professionals, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining the University, Mr. Gitlin worked at Agave Holdings, the real estate investment affiliate of the Jose Cuervo Tequila Company. At Agave, Mr. Gitlin established the operation in the United States, and was responsible for the finance and administration of the group’s extensive multi state commercial property portfolio. Before working for Agave, Mr. Gitlin was a Vice President with the New Dawn Companies, a Miami-based real estate developer with projects throughout the state of Florida. In this position, he supervised the operations related to both the acquisition and disposition of projects totaling $55 million.
Mr. Gitlin holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
