Just two years ago the University of Miami partnered with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six to launch a new safety campaign called “Put it Down” that would inform drivers in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties about the dangers of distracted driving.

The goal of this campaign is to encourage younger drivers, ages 16 through 24, to put away mobile phones and other handheld devices while driving. As a result, FDOT has partnered with several agencies and academic institutions, including Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the University of Miami, Florida International University and Miami Dade College.

Here you can find this weeks “Put It Down” Social Media Message.
