Dr. Howard Pospesel

Professor Pospesel earned his B.A. degree at Wittenberg University, his M.A. at the University of Florida, and his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been a member of the Department since 1965 and served as Chair from 1984 to 1988. He organized the Department's colloquium series in 1966. Professor Pospesel is the author of four logic textbooks: Propositional Logic, Predicate Logic, (with Robert E. Rodes, Jr.) Premises and Conclusions, and (with David Marans) Arguments, all published by Prentice-Hall. He collaborated with Dr. James Shelley on the creation of SANDY, a logic tutorial computer program. He has published articles in logic, epistemology and ontology. He received the James W. McLamore Outstanding Service Award in 1989.
