A slice of home: The Northeast bagel experience

Gavin McKenna, a University of Miami student turned entrepreneur, and a group of college friends bring a slice of the Big Apple to the Sunshine State. With the support of UM Dining Services, this group of students started the Barnyard Bagel Co. and transformed their passion for authentic New York-style bagel sandwiches into a thriving business at the Well ’Canes market. Each week, Barnyard Bagel imports the finest bagels from New York to craft mouthwatering bagel sandwiches that have become a hit among students longing for a taste of home.
