Welcome to Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA)! Our department provides guidance and support to African, Hispanic, Asian and Native American students at the University of Miami. The department coordinates a variety of programs and services that are designed to enhance the cultural, educational and personal development of students on campus. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is committed to helping students of color to achieve their academic goals at the University of Miami. In addition, the department serves as a valuable resource to the University community on diversity and cultural issues. The staff helps the University maintain a high level of sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of students of diverse backgrounds. Each year, new and transfer students are encouraged to participate in the annual Horizons Program for Students of color. Horizons is a one day workshop designed to assist new African, Hispanic, Asian and Native American students in their transition to the University of Miami. Finally, no student should ever feel alone at the University. The staff assists individuals and groups of students in clarifying or resolving academic, career, cultural, financial, personal, racial, sexual, and social issues. We hope you enjoy browsing our website. For more information on Horizons and other programs and services provided by MSA, please contact us at 305-284-2855.
