The maximum file size per upload to web storage is 100MB.
Initially your SharePoint site collection is created with 5GB of space. To increase the size of your SharePoint site, please email
ites.swat@miami.edu.
Typical document, picture, and sound files can be saved in storage. However, you may not upload .app, .class, .dll, .exe, .mat, .msi, or .vb files. If you have questions about a particular type of file not included here, please contact us at

All SharePoint content is protected by restricted physical access to server, network perimeter firewalls, account (CaneID) access restrictions, anti-virus software and Secure Socket Layer communications. In addition, all content is backed-up daily to ensure that no documents or information is lost. Backups are stored for one year.
Who is eligible for a MySite account?
To be eligible for MySite, you must be a currently enrolled student in the University of Miami and have a UMail account. (Excluding Law and Medical students)
How do I delete my MySite account?
From your MySite, click on Site Actions and click on Site Settings. From the Site Administration section, click on "Delete this
site." Confirm that you want to delete your MySite. Caution! All your web storage documents and sub-sites will be deleted this action.
What are web parts?
Web parts are content areas that can be personalized and moved around on the page to your customization. Example content for web parts include pictures, links list,
document lists, news feeds, etc.
Can I recover deleted files?
You may restore deleted files from your Recycle Bin for up to 30 days. You may also contact us beyond 30 days of deletion to check for a back-up copy at
spsherpas@miami.edu. Only you can view content in My Home. The My Profile view can be accessed and seen by UM faculty, staff, and
students using the MySite service.
How do I find my classmates on MySite?
MySites have access to the GAL (global access list) so that you can find their contact Information simply by using the search toolbar in the top right corner of the MySite
page and setting the scope to 'People.' You may only be able to view their MySites if they have created one.
