The Infrastructure & Operations unit is responsible for establishing, supporting and maintaining the technical infrastructure, including shared services, virtual services, central server services, security operations, technical operations and computer operations which support the goals and mission of the University.
Infrastructure & Operations:
- Network Infrastructure
- The Network Infrastructure unit is responsible for all network architecture, audio/video conferencing, network engineering, and telecommunications. The unit manages, installs, and repairs outside plant infrastructure and backbone cabling, including low-voltage design and engineering for the University’s new building construction.
- Client Infrastructure & Technical Support Services
- The Client Infrastructure & Technical Support Services unit provides multi-tier hardware support for desktop devices, peripherals (keyboards, mice, monitors, printers, and scanners), and stand-alone printers for the University’s network of staff, faculty, and students, including the initial response of computer-related problems, triage, and the ability to replace faulty parts.
- Systems Infrastructure
- The Systems Infrastructure unit manages physical and virtual server infrastructures, which includes the installation and management of server infrastructure equipment, virtual server hypervisor platforms, and server operating systems, and the management of security updates and patch management for server operating systems.
