SecureCanes Wireless Network Update

July 31, 2014 — Coral Gables, FL —

As part of the University of Miami’s initiative to improve wireless connectivity, UMIT will be updating the 802.1x certificate for the SecureCanes wireless network (across all campuses) on Saturday, August 9th. As a result of this update, the way users connect to the SecureCanes network will be slightly modified.

After the update, users will have to accept the new 802.1x certificate presented on their Wi-Fi devices (laptops, smart phones, tablets, etc.) that are used to connect to SecureCanes. The documentation for accepting the new certificate can be viewed here.

If you are having problems connecting to SecureCanes, please contact the UMIT Service Desk: Coral Gables/RSMAS Campuses: (305) 284-6565, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or Medical Campus: (305) 243-5999, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
