What is changing and who is impacted?
A new system can represent a fundamental change, not only in terms of changing work practices and routines, but also in terms of knowledge. At UM these impacts can be seen in the following groups:
Who will be trained in the new system?
All UM employees will receive training to enable them to use Workday.
Instructor Led Training will be provided for users with key security roles in Workday. E.g. HR Partners, Cost Center Managers, Business Process Initiators, and Timekeepers.
Online training will be provided for employees who will enter time in Workday and for all employees who will view their payslips, elect benefits, manage personal information, etc via Workday’s Employee Self Service (ESS) functionality.
A variety of training materials will be available online: tip sheets, video tutorials, and job aids.
When will training occur?
Instructor Led Training will be available starting in November 2014. Initial training will focus on Workday Navigation, Workday Basics, and Key Concepts. Subsequent training will be role-based and will focus on specific processes.
Online training (tip sheets, video tutorials, and job aids) will be available and communicated to relevant groups prior to implementation.
