Orlando Alvarez, Ph.D. Discipline: Mathematics
Conducting cross disciplinary research in Physics and Mathematics using techniques from elementary particle physics and string theory to obtain novel mathematical results motivated by physics.
Charleton Copeland, J.D. Discipline: Law
Scholarly and research interests include federalism, constitutional law, administrative law, comparative constitutional law, and law and religion. Professor Copeland also serves as the Vice Chair of the Miami Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust.
Monica Webb Hooper, Ph.D. Discipline: Clinical Health Psychology
Research interests are in health behavior change, with an emphasis on cancer prevention and control and minority health.
Laura Kohn-Wood, Ph.D. Discipline: Educational and Psychological Studies
Research focuses on race, ethnicity and culture in relation to psychological distress, with an emphasis on race-based protective factors and the promotion of positive coping and mental health among African Americans.
Vassiliki "Villy" Kourafalou, Ph.D. Discipline: Meteorology and Physical Oceanography
Chair of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, which works toward eliminating gender and ethnic bias and developing programs for maintaining diverse faculty, staff and student bodies. Dr. Kourafalou is active in the Faculty Senate's Women and Minorities committee.
