The dormitory, Kolej Komenskeho, offers the conveniences that any student would need to live and study abroad. In close proximity to public transportation, students can travel to any place in Prague. There are also grocery stores, restaurants, and mini-markets within walking distance. All students in the UPrague program are required to stay in the Charles University dorm. Off-campus housing is not permitted.
The Komenskeho dorm is located in the charming castle district of Prague, a 20-minute commute to the Old Town Square by public transportation.
Suite Style Living
Single and double rooms are available with a shared bathroom and kitchenette with a refrigerator and a hot plate for two adjacent rooms. Bedding and towels are provided. Kitchen utensils are not provided; however, items can be purchased or borrowed from the university dorm (based on availability). Singles are available on a first come-first served basis. Students may request to live with international students or other UM participants.
All rooms have a twin bed, desk, wardrobe, and a nightstand with a lamp. Bedding, pillows, and towels are provided. While these items are provided, many students purchase their own upon arrival.

24-Hour Residential Assistance
Mrs. Zuzana Wienerova, the Resident and Cultural Coordinator, is available to UPrague students for any help that they may need during their stay in the dormitory. She provides support with medical emergencies, advice on places to see, and organizes weekly cultural activities. She lives in dorm room 109.
A light European style cold breakfast buffet is included and is available on weekdays from 7:30am. until 10:00am. The breakfast includes: juice, coffee, milk, cereal, cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, vegetables, fruit, bread, and yogurt. The price is included in your program fee.
The dormitory has a laundry room with washers and dryers available for students to use (small fee).
The dorm community room contains a full kitchen with a stove, oven, and microwave. There is also a small lounge area with a flat screen TV.
A quiet study room with desks is available on the 3rd floor for students to use.
A gym is available for use on the ground floor. The gym contains free weights and an elliptical machine. A small fee is required.
Internet is available in each dorm room through a cable. The cost per semester is approximately 300 – 400 CZK [approx. 20 USD] and may be purchased (cash only) during dorm check-in. Wi-Fi is unavailable in the dorm. There is no computer lab available at the dormitory. Students should bring their own laptop or students may use the computers at Charles University during the weekdays.
All suites are equipped with a local phone. Incoming phone calls are connected from the dorm operator directly to the dorm room.
Entrance to the dorm requires a Charles University ID to be swiped at the front entrance of the building. A front desk attendant is available at all times in case a student needs assistance. All students will receive an ID card within the first week of the program.
Rooms are cleaned weekly and sheets are changed every ten days.
