Freshman Leadership Council

Members of the Freshman Leadership Council gain hands-on experience in completing projects and initiatives to enhance student life on campus. They are also paired with an older SG member as a mentor. FLC members regularly meet with campus administrators and other members of SG to complete their projects.

UOutreach Committee

The UOutreach Committee plans and executes campuswide SG events. This committee works on events like a fall speaker event, Spring Kickoff and more. The committee also has the flexibility to create new programs.

Senate

*All Senators must join at least one committee, which meets once a week at the following times:
  • Academic Affairs: Monday, 3:30 p.m.
  • University Affairs: Tuesday, 5 p.m.
  • Public Relations: Tuesday, 5 p.m.
  • Policy & Finance: Monday, 8 p.m.

The Senate passes legislation presented by students and members of Student Government. Senate consists of four committees that initiate projects and legislation. The four committees are University Affairs, Academic Affairs, Policy and Finance, and Public Relations. All Senators are responsible for attending one committee meeting each week in addition to the weekly Senate meeting.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court is charged with upholding the provisions and powers of the Student Government Constitution and Statutes. The Court has the power of judicial review over all legislation passed by the Senate. It is also responsible for hearing and deliberating on any Elections Codes violations.

Elections Commission

The Elections Commission coordinates all aspects of SG elections in the fall and spring. It also enforces elections codes and presents violations to the Court.

Energy & Conservation Organization (ECO)

ECO works to build an environmentally friendly campus by creating and implementing sustainable projects from recycling programs to solar panels and by promoting green habits among UM students.
