William J. Donelan
Vice President for Medical Administration and Chief Operating and Strategy Officer, Miller School of Medicine

William J. Donelan is the University of Miami’s vice president for medical administration and the chief operating and strategy officer of the Miller School of Medicine and University of Miami Health System. Under his leadership, the University is pursuing the expansion of the University of Miami Health System, which provides a wide range of clinical services in South Florida. He is the former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Duke University Health System and vice chancellor for health affairs of Duke University. His career at Duke began in 1969. He was vice chancellor for administration and chief financial officer of Duke University Medical Center, and before that director and chief operating officer of Duke University Hospital. Donelan earned an undergraduate degree in political science from Wheeling Jesuit University and a master's of management science from the Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
