Freshmen choose from among three application options - Early Decision, Early Action or Regular Decision

  • Early Decision is our early, binding application option. Students who apply under Early Decision typically do so because UM is their first choice school. Students who are accepted through Early Decision are expected to attend UM. Accepted Early Decision students are expected to withdraw all other college applications and submit their enrollment deposit by mid-January.

  • Early Action is our early, non-binding application option. Early Action is ideal for students who are seriously considering UM, but they would also like to keep their options open and receive admission decisions from other schools. Accepted Early Action students have until May 1 (the national reply date for colleges/universities) to make their final decision and submit their enrollment deposit.

  • Regular Decision is the standard application option. All music and Theatre B.F.A. applicants are required to apply under Regular Decision because of the audition component of their admission process.
