The University of Miami provides data network services, including Internet access, to students through the use of computer labs throughout the campus as well as providing data network connectivity to students’ personal computers (including laptops and handheld personal digital assistants) both on-campus and off-campus. These data network services provided by the Department of Telecommunications for students is collectively known as CaneNet. CaneNet services are available to all currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in the Coral Gables campus.
Students living in the residential colleges or student village can access the UM computer network and Internet with their personal computer through our dormitory network known as CaneNet.
Commuter students, students with mobile computers, and students living in the on-campus apartments or fraternities can access the UM computer network and Internet with their personal computers through our wireless network known as WirelessCanes.
