Data Services

The Department of Telecommunications provides a wide array of data network services to faculty, staff and departments at the University of Miami, Coral Gables campus. 

These services include:

• Provisioning data network service to the Coral Gables campus and related remote sites.
• Overseeing the wide-area network (WAN) among the UM campuses and its connection to the Internet, Internet2 and Florida LamdaRail (Florida's Research and Education Network).
• Providing cabling and wiring for all of the UM campuses and remote sites.
• Assisting with the planning and implementation of departmental local area network (LAN) solutions.
• Maintainining data connectivity and troubleshooting network-related issues in the Coral Gables campus.
• Managing technical and end-user support for Central Server customers.
• Helping with billing questions and providing reports.
