All accepted students must attend the pre-departure orientation, held in April or November of the semester prior to your study abroad.

During the first half of the orientation we will cover the following topics: health and safety abroad, general academic policies and procedures, financial aid, housing, student accounts, disability services, travel medicine, culture shock and cross-cultural adaptation.  Country specific information sessions, with former program participants who are back at UM, or the program directors in charge of your program, will be held during the second half of the orientation. Both of these sessions will be a great chance for you to have your questions answered and meet other participants.
