The Department of Student Activities and Student Organizations, located in the Whitten University Center room 209 (also known as the Smith-Tucker Involvement Center or the STIC), is the central location for student involvement at the University of Miami.
Whether you want to join a student organization, help determine what movies and concerts come to campus, or plan late-night events or Homecoming activities, we are where you want to be!
The Student Activities staff serves as a resource for student leaders, programming boards, and over 245 registered student organizations through advising, leadership development, and organizational support services. The mission of Student Activities and Student Organizations, by way of exemplary service, is to operate as a resource and catalyst for student development by fostering a learning environment that empowers students to engage and participate in a diverse array of enriching opportunities.
In collaboration with the University community, our office strives to further students’ personal and professional development through involvement while celebrating their uniqueness.
Our office can help you find the right information to plan an event on campus, help edit performance contracts, and provide services such as helium filled balloons and a lamination machine (available for a nominal fee), financial forms for your organization, as well as request forms for President Shalala to attend your event.
