Parent / Delegate myUM Account
| Step 1: Go to www.miami.edu/delegate |
Step 2: Logging in and registering as a parent. Have you already logged into myUM under your own account (not your child's)? *If "no", then you need to create an account that belongs to you as a parent delegate. Click on Create a myUM Account and provide the necessary information to create a myUM account, which includes creating a Cane ID and password. You will also create a security question in case you forget your password. Please pay attention to the Cane ID you create, and remember that the password is case sensitive. *If "yes", then select "I have a myUM Account". |
| Step 3: On the login page, enter YOUR Cane ID and password. Your Cane ID should be something like the 1st letter of YOUR first name, followed by YOUR last name. |
Step 4: Once you are logged in you should be able to see the "Welcome to myUM" page and the top right corner of this page should display, "Welcome, Your name". Select Continue. Note: If the top right corner of the page displays your child's name instead of your own, you might have logged in with your child's credentials by mistake. Please log off of the myUM session you're in, close the browser, open a new browser, and begin again. Make sure you're using YOUR Cane ID and password when you log in again. |
| Step 5: On the student lookup page, enter your child's UM ID (a number starting with a C), date of birth, your relationship to this student, and select "Submit". |
| Step 6: Verify the information submitted matches the name of your child. If it does, select "This is correct". |
| Step 7: If you wish to set up your Delegate Access you may do so by selecting "Set up Delegate Access" and following the directions on each screen. |
| Step 8: Once your registration is completed, your child will need to log into myUM and grant you access to the information he or she wishes you to see. Once your access has been granted, you may return to https://myUM.miami.edu and view your child's student information from your own myUM account. |
