Enrolling in the Administrative Support Program
Admission into the Administrative Support Program (ASP) is available bi-annually. This program is offered only to high performing employees who are recommended by their supervisor. Applicants must meet a minimum of one year work experience within the University, and one year within the sponsoring department. They must also meet/exceed expectations rating on their last performance evaluation, and have not performance issues in the past year. Supervisor commitment is required.
To enroll in the ASP program:

- Candidate must submit a Statement of Interest. Click on link to complete the Statement of Interest form http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CBP_SOI
- Supervisor and Candidate complete the application packet and submit it to PDTO by the application deadline (contact PDTO at 305-243-3090 to obtain application deadline information). The application packet has two parts: the Candidate Application to be completed by the candidate, and the Supervisor Recommendation to be completed by the supervisor. Only completed application packets received by the deadline will be considered. Note that the supervisor and candidate must complete an Administrative Support Program Orientation CBL in http://ulearn.miami.edu as part of the application process.
- The application is reviewed and prior to the start of the semester candidates and supervisors are notified via email of program acceptance or rejection.
- Once approved, the candidate will register for an Administrative Support Program orientation session to gain a thorough understanding of the program requirements and expectations.
- Supervisors are engaged and required to participate in the candidate's development.
- Upon completion of the Administrative Support Program Orientation CBL, the participant must complete the remaining ASP Orientation Series courses. These courses help the participant and the supervisor determine the areas of opportunity and develop an action plan to bridge skill gaps. These courses are:
- Roadmapping Your Future CBL
- Supervisor and Participant complete the ASP Assessment
- Administrative Support Program Orientation Live Session
- Roadmapping your future Live Session
- Administrative Support Program Mentoring CBL
- Administrative Support Program Mentoring Live Session
- Once participant completes the ASP Orientation Series they begin work on their action plan. While working on their plan the participant completes Learning Labs, Collaboration Center postings, and store artifacts in their e-portfolio that demonstrate proficiency in the 5 ASP competencies. The e-Portfolio is submitted at the end of each ASP level to prove the participant is proficient in that level. The portfolio is reviewed and by a team of University Leaders before the participant can be promoted to the next level.
