Each level builds on the other. In order to complete the Application level, you must prove competency at the Entry level first. In order to complete the Proficient level, you must prove competency at the Entry level and then at the Application level.

You and your supervisor can determine that the skills at the Entry or Application level are sufficient for your current position at the University. For example, if you are a data entry clerk, you may only be required to prove competency at the Entry level, while if you are an administrative assistant, you may need to prove competency at the Application level. In that case, you do not have to pursue the level(s) above if you do not want to. You can continue with the program at a later time to develop your skills at the higher level(s).
