The Merage Foundation for the American Dream Fellowship offers students who have immigrated to the United States and have become citizens of the U.S. or hold a Permanent Resident Card the opportunity to compete for Merage Foundation Fellowships. Selected students are awarded $10,000 per year for two years to pursue their American Dream. .

The Merage Foundation Fellows Program awards $10,000 per year for two years to exceptional graduating seniors who are immigrants to the United States to pursue the American Dream. Stipends may be used to pursue educational opportunities, travel for research and professional development, secure mentors, support internships, and more. Fellows will also attend the Foundation’s annual National Leadership Awards Dinner in June, where they will meet the previous year’s Fellows along with leaders in business, science, education, the public sector, etc. They are also able to attend the Foundation’s events on immigration and receive networking support and mentoring from the Foundation throughout their careers.
UM students seeking nomination for the Merage Foundation for the American Dream Fellowship should request an application by sending an e-mail to the Office of Prestigious Awards (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)). Candidates must submit their completed application and supporting materials to the Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships, attention Merage Foundation Fellowships Selection Committee by 5pm, Monday, November 28, 2011.
Interviews of select nominated students will occur in January and February and may occur face-to-face at a location convenient to the student and the interviewer, by videoconference, or by telephone. The Foundation will announce the selected Fellows in late March or early April.
