Prestigious Awards and Fellowships – Student Panel

Tuesday, February 11th from 3:30-4:30 pm at the Mahoney Faculty Master Apartment MRC 137

The Office of Prestigious Awards and Fellowships will be hosting a panel discussion with UM students who have recently distinguished themselves in national awards competitions like the Hollings, Goldwater, Fulbright, and Rhodes scholarship programs.  The event will be an opportunity for UM students to hear from their peers and discuss the process of applying for prestigious awards, what they think sets them apart from other applicants, and how the experience has helped shape their goals for the future.   • Christine Chesley (’14 Geoscience/Applied Mathematics) - Goldwater Scholarship Honorable Mention, Hollings Scholar, Marshall Scholarship Finalist
  • Marie Hanewinckel (’15 International Studies) - UK-US Fulbright Summer Institute Scholarship Recipient
  • Rachel Libby (BA in Latin American Studies ’10,  MA in Latin American Studies/Global Health ’11, MD Miller School of Medicine ‘16) - Fulbright Scholar
  • Jill Ulrich (BA in Microbiology/Immunology & International Studies ’11; Current Ph.D Student in Environmental Science & Policy, The Leonard and Jayne Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy) - Fulbright Recipient
