What does my $90.00 registration fee cover? The registration fee includes a ticket to the UM vs. the University of Oklahoma Sooners football game, a tailgate with President Shalala before the game, a Family Weekend t-shirt, and all other Family Weekend events. What time do events on Friday, October 2 begin? Family Weekend Check-In begins at 12:00pm on Friday; however, events will not begin until 2:00pm. What time do events on Sunday, October 4 end? All events on Sunday are optional. Various campus activities will be available all day for Family Weekend participants. A complete list of Sunday activities will be provided at Family Weekend Check-In. Do I need to register my entire family for Family Weekend? Land Shark Stadium ticket policy requires everyone over the age of two to have a valid ticket for the football game. Therefore, all participants wanting to attend the UM football game need to register for Family Weekend. During the registration process you will be asked to enter information about your UM student, however there is no registration fee required. What if I cannot make it to campus by 5:00pm on Friday, October 2? Family Weekend Check-In will also be available on the morning of Saturday, October 3 from 8:00am to 11:00am in the Whitten University Center Lower Lounge. You MUST check-in by 11:00am on Saturday in order to receive your football tickets. |

What time is the football game? Football game start times are determined based on the TV networks' schedule. We will not have confirmation on the kickoff time of the football game until 10 days before the game. Once the kickoff time is confirmed it will be posted on our website. In what section of Land Shark Stadium are the football tickets located? The Family Weekend block of football tickets are located in sections 456, 401, and 402, which are adjacent to the upper level student section tickets. No, UM students are admitted free to all home football games with a valid 'Cane ID Card. Can I sit with my student at the game? Due to the popularity of the Oklahoma game, it is not possible for you to sit with your student in the student section at Land Shark Stadium. However, Family Weekend tickets are located adjacent to the student section. What if I just want tickets to the football game and do not want to attend any Family Weekend activities? The Family Weekend block of football tickets are only available as part of the Family Weekend package; we do not sell individual football tickets. If you wish to only purchase football tickets, you may contact the UM Athletics department by calling (305) 284-2263 (Hours of Operation: 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday) or you may purchase tickets online at HurricaneSports.com. |

What time does the tailgate begin? The tailgate will begin 2 hours prior to the start of the football game. The kickoff time of the football game will be available 10 days before the game and will posted on the Family Weekend website. Can my student attend the tailgate? Yes, students can attend the tailgate if you purchase a ticket for them during the Family Weekend registration process. Student tailgate tickets are $20.00 per student. Where is the tailgate going to be held? The tailgate will be held at Land Shark Stadium in the Gate C Courtyard area. More detailed information on the location of the tailgate will be available at Family Weekend Check-In. What is the menu for the tailgate? The tailgate will be catered by Shorty's Bar-B-Q and the menu is as follows: Bar-B-Q Chicken Bar-B-Q Pork Ribs Corn on the Cob Bar-B-Q Beans Cole Slaw Potato Salad Freshly Baked Dinner Rolls & Butter Cookies Watermelon |
Parking/Transportation:
How can I get to Land Shark Stadium for the football game? Family Weekend participants have the option of choosing to drive and park at Land Shark Stadium at the cost of $25.00 per car or riding the student buses to and from Land Shark Stadium The cost for bus transportation is $20.00 per person and can be purchased during the registration process. Where can I park on-campus? Included in the registration fee is a parking pass that is valid for the entire weekend. You will receive the parking pass via e-mail one week prior to Family Weekend. You will need to print out your parking pass and display it in the front windshield of your vehicle throughout the weekend. If you forget your pass, we will have them available at check-in. During Family Weekend, there will be ample parking available in non-restricted lots around campus. Please note that the parking permits are not valid in lots 303, 304B, parking meters, reserved spaces, or service spaces. |
