The University of Miami is bound by The Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This act was established to protect the confidentiality of student’s personal information. For this reason, students must designate “Delegates” and allow them access to various sections of their University of Miami information.

Until you are listed as a delegate our office as well as; Student Account Services, the Office of the Registrar, and others will not be able to release any information to you.

Parents and others can register for this access at www.miami.edu/delegate. They will need the students UM ID number and birth date to register. Once the user signs up for delegate access, the student will need to validate the request by indicating the information they wish to make available.
