May 29, 2012 — Coral Gables — The University of Miami (UM) ranked among the Top 50 on multiple lists of Hispanic Outlook’s “Top 100 Colleges for Hispanics” based on degrees awarded in 2011.
With 120 doctoral degrees awarded, UM ranks at #6. In the master’s degrees category, UM ranks #30, with over 200 degrees. UM ranks #46 in bachelor’s degrees awarded to Hispanics, for a total of 27 percent.
The “Top 100” list was compiled using information made available by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics. Overall, schools featured on the list saw an increase in the number of Hispanic students awarded a degree.
