October 23, 2009 — Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) help to ensure compliance, control, and consistency in the conduct of clinical trials. Johanna Stamates, associate director of the Office of Research Compliance Assessment, will cover the following questions:
• What is an SOP?
• Why is it important to have SOPs?
• What should be included in SOPs?
• Who should be involved in the creation of SOPs?
• How should SOPs be implemented?
• What are the pitfalls of SOPs?
