May 26, 2010 — Coral Gables — The University of Miami Mini Canes Recreational Sports Camp won the Kids’ Crown Award for “Best Sports Camp in Miami-Dade County” by South Florida Parenting Magazine.
The Mini Canes Recreational Sports Camp has won the Kids’ Crown Award for “Best Sports Camp in Miami-Dade County” in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2009. Out of its 14 years of existence, this is the eighth year the camp has won this award.
The Herbert Wellness Center offers a summer sports camp where children can experience playtime in a way that encourages a healthy lifestyle and habits. Mini Canes Recreational Sports Camp is an 8-week summer camp that is open to children ages six through twelve, and offers a wide variety of sports and other activities for a fun-filled summer. The summer is divided into 2-week sessions where campers can swim, play sports, and take part in a variety of other indoor games and activities. Each week of camp features a sport of the week in addition to theme days and special events.
